Dreams: the witch, and the aliens

I have been processing a lot with my parents. As I do, I have had quite a few symbolic dreams. Some I would categorize as emotional processing, some may have been spiritual warfare. This one was both. I am posting here my first, unprocessed recollection of the dream that I wrote immediately upon waking. This dream really stuck with me, and I returned to it an analyzed symbols in my journal days later. These will be the subsequent two posts. I realize that this dream won't completely make sense to people without the intereprtations: but it may be interesting to read it as is, then compare with how I interpret it. I would be interested in reader's interpretations of my dreams/images. Keep in mind that I had this dream immediately after my session with my wife, where I cut ties significantly with my mother.

The Witch at the Christian Summer Camp

The first dream was the worst. I had been at a place — maybe a summer camp. A horrible witch was there. But also, there was the most beautiful christian music playing. I was watching a music video on a big screen. Suddenly the video became very dark. People were being hit (like by a windshield) and their faces smacked the screen, with blood. There was a wet “thumping” noise. So many people — it sounded like a drum. I hid my face, because I did not want to look at it. It was very disturbing, that is what woke me up.

The Aliens

The second dream was different. It was much lighter. It is hard to put it in order.

I was in an unfamiliar place. For a while, I was an astronaught on a foreign planet. But the planet looked a lot like a supermarket, or at least it had stores.

I was on a ferris-wheel, with a woman (who was an alien, I think) who kept dropping her child. The farris wheel spun way out in space. I had to grab the child so she wouldn’t slide off and be lost forever. The mother was a moron. There was a rope, but I don’t remember if it was her or I who was trying to tie the child safely.

As we spun, I took a moment to look at the stars. It made me sick, we were so high. But they were beautiful. And then I caught a glimpse of the milky way. I knew (and someone told me) “in all of the universe, that is the only place with colour.” It was such a beautiful violet colour. After the ride, some of the alines (they were good aliens) were kindly asking if we would like to be made like them, so we could stay forever. Myself and my two friends (one a girl, one a boy…not related, not romantic) said absolutely not. A buzzer started sounding, and they kindly told us we needed to leave the restaurant, and press the buzzer if we did not want to be made into aliens. We ran out so fast! On the way, we passed a newspaper. It had information on the missing person we had been trying to find. I started to pick it up, but there was no time. The woman got there first and said desperately, “It doesn’t work, it doesn’t work!” We all began yelling, “we don’t want to become aliens! We don’t want to become aliens!” (or something like that). And finally one of the kind aliens said, “ok, ok, we won’t turn you into aliens.” They had really thought we wanted to become aliens.

There was a game, were we needed to know something. Something was really important to know. We were walking back into a supermarket. As we did, I realized that an old ring did not fit me anymore. There was a kind woman, who was indirectly related to me. Maybe a mother-in-law. I tried the ring on every finger, then asked if she would like it back. She said she would be honoured to have the ring back from me. It was a gold ring, with either green or orange rocks.

Inside the store, there was confusion about my shirt. I had been wearing one, but it became too tight. I was very embarrassed. I went out the the car to change. On the way, two very rough individuals passed me, and said, “you will never win!” They threatened me, but I was not intimidated. I later found myself in a restaurant booth, with about five other people. We were all trying to find the answer to the missing person challenge. There was a girl (not related, not romantic) that could have been a classmate from high school. She knew, but had forgotten. I think she had had a dream. Something about fishing, but not being able to catch anything.

“I had gone to the store…but when I left, I couldn’t catch anything.” She had bought hooks, but no fish. That was the answer to her dream.

There was something about hair. Hair had answered the door. The girl was still talking. Her head was down, her eyebrows were pressed. She was trying to remember the dream. I asked, “Was is nice hair, or witch hair?” She thought it was a stupid question. “Like, was the hair standing up and doing things, or do you remember a person with hair?” She didn’t know. I thought it was a fair question. Was it a nice person, or a witch? Isn’t that the most important question?

Interpretation

I had to go to work: this is how far I got in interpreting it the first day.

The first dream was the most disturbing, and the most significant. I am not sure how much of it I can remember.

I remember having powers, and feeling very powerful. And also very close to God. But there was also so much wickedness. So much evil, it scared me.

There was a witch. I cannot remember where she was, or what she was doing. I think there may have been a mark on my hand. I think there was something ancestral about the dream.

I do not think this dream is worth pursuing. It is not telling me something emotional, but something spiritual that is not true.

Interpretations

Note: clearly, my mind is wrestling with issues of motherlessness. Searching for an unknown person (my mother?) and there are several women in various types of incompetence.

The earlier dream: I went back to sleep, and was trying to forget it. And so I don’t remember much. But it seemed very significant. Sometimes I have a “spiritual” dream: where I wrestle with demons, for example, or spend amazing times of worship with God. This dream felt spiritual in that sense.
